I had a pro street motor built and I asked the builder about a "break in" time before I could romp on it and he told me DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT that way the motor gets use to the way it is going to be treated. As far as the turbo I would think that as long as the oil has run through it you should be good to go.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Let it idle for 22.3 seconds and if doesn't make unsual noise, smoke, or change colors, you can then drive it as the law allows.

What they said. Turbos don't need to be broken in, they are ready to go as soon as the oil pressure comes up.

For what it's worth, when I installed my PDR HX35 hybrid, the folks at PDR suggested a gentle 50 mile break-in period.

thanks for all the info guys, I think I might be easy on it for 50, miles just to be safe, maybe, if I keep my foot out of it for that long.

I was told it was off of a 8.3 cummins, but I have seen a ton of them on ebay that are off all different kinds of rigs, so I guess I'm sayin I have no idea if they put it on the n14's.
