New Seats
New Seats
On the 91 W250s did they put the wiring harness in the floor for power seats even if the truck was a base model? I want to change out the bench seat out for the power buckets, but I need to know if some wiring is needed.
Not an answer to your question, but I thought I would mention it.
My 92 has the split bench from a 94 installed (the kind with the fold-down console). I haven't spent any time with the stock seat, but the previous owner assured me the 94 seat is way more comfy than stock.
Two pieces of "z" channel appear to be the only custom parts required, and the seat is slightly offset to the right, and it is a little tight on the right side against the door.

I have installed an auxillary fust panel on the left fender of my truck. From there, I just ran a 12 ga + & - wire through the firewall. There is a big soft rubber plug that I use forf this. Just punch a hole and run the wires through. From there, I ran them, in split loom, down the floor pan over against the left side. There is already a trough there that has wiring in it for the rear speakers and the done & cargo lights. From there, just came up throught he carpet at the right spot. All the seats need is 12 V + & -. Real easy hook up.

I basically did the same thing. I ran a fused supply from the battery and fed it throught the firewall grommet. I would suggest using a coated two wire purchased from any auto supply store.
Any power seats I've seen only need the supply and ground connected to them. The seats are usually self contained with all the wiring, switches etc.
