New coil springs for 89 2wd d250
Hi,
My 89 seems to be sitting a bit low in the front... would new coil springs make it sit up higher? Are their some taller springs that can be stuffed in there? A friend of mine suggested that their were some 1" spacers that can be stuffed under the springs... Seems like its probably about 3" low in the front... certainly not level now but I'd like it to be.
Thanks

I just got done with a complete front end rebuild and I went with some new springs. I thought about using a spacer to bring the ride up more, but the old springs just felt wore out as well as sitting too low so I decided to replace them. There are good springs available from moog. Part number 7226. There is the 7226 and the 7226S. S is for severe duty. I went with the 7226S springs in hopes that they will last the longest and push the front end up where its supposed to be. Some guys have said the ride with the severe duty springs was too stiff, but in my truck, these springs ride much better than the wore out ones did. On the same bumps these ones actually feel softer because with the added height, they have such a long travel. I was hitting the bump stops before. The truck sits perfectly level now when empty. They were around $150. Well worth it to get new ones in my opinion.

hey aaron were those 7226S springs $150 for the pair or is that an individual price? my ball joints are at the beginning stage of wearing out. had it aligned and was told they had minimal play in them. i'm thinking about replacing the springs since everything will be torn apart, if i can afford them along with the price of everything else. it'll be a few months before i can get around to it... the truck's getting a SB clutch the week after x-mas .
