I was wondering about the uninterrupted signal effecting the CC it makes sense to wire it to the clutch switch.

I rarely think of a ECM as my 90 doesn't have one.

I didnt have any time to mess with it last night, but will have time tonight. Ill get all of that goin and see what happens. Does it matter which wire off the clutch switch gets grounded and which gets connected to the brown/yellow wire?
It might....depending on how that clutch switch is wired.

You want the brown/yellow tracer wire to be free of a ground signal all the time...except when the clutch is pressed in. So you need to figure out what path the ground circuit takes through the switch...and wire it up accordingly.

Trying to wire up my backup light and P/N switch on a 545RFE 46RH swap. My 46RH is a mixture of years, can anyone identify what I believe to be the NSS/Backup switch?
Thanks,

Much appreciate. I don't know if it matters, but the diagram shows the round switch and I have the rectangular switch shown in the picture.

Thanks,

Sorry to hijack your thread but i went through the same scenerio, have got my clutch safety switch wired correctly, cruise control working properly, but no reverse lights. It's hard to make out in the pictures, but what color are the other 2 wires on the 3 pin connector. I don't have the connector to reference off of and when i redid my wiring harness i cut several unused wires back to the connector up by the firewall but none that look like the ones in the pictures. Thank yall in advance

Thanks,
That kind of threw me off as well, but it has to be the right one.

I have never seen a switch like the one you show, perhaps from a newer one?

I dunno, but you can ohm it out to verify really easy.

At least in 95, it was as follows

Pin 1 12V fused. Brown and light Green
Pin 2 Park/Neutral Black and White
Pin 3 Reverse light Violet and Black.

The trans is a Martin Saine built hybrid using a 96' case and a mixture of A518 and 46RH parts. It's a gas trans with a 3000 stall converter hopefully it will eliminate the weaknesses of the 545RFE trans has demonstrated. I just installed it and am currently fabricating the TV cable and replacing my floor shift cable with a longer one. I've ordered a electrical repair pig tails for a 96' main plug and a 99' NSS which looks rectangular in the catalog picture. This is installed in my 03 hemi truck, very much appreciate all the help I've received on this site.

Bypassing the Clutch Safety Switch

I just bypassed my clutch safety switch (CSS) I had a difficult time to get my Big Red started. As I was going through some of the posts here, I was getting concerned about Cruise Control no longer working and maybe some other functions also. Just to be safe, I spliced the Yellow and Yellow/Blue wires and connected them to a simple Taco Switch that I installed near the steering wheel (to avoid hitting it with my knees). So when Taco Switch is in on position I'm bypassing the CSS to start Big Red, and when Taco is in off position everything else works like normal.
