I have a 93 ext cab 2wd truck that I just bought and need help in replacing the u joints.

As I was trying (aka, pounding the crap out of the u-joint caps) to get the u joints out right behind the tranny, the slip yoke out of the back of the tranny fell out half way! Now I cannot get it back in. I need to try to get it done today.

I did have the carrier bearing unbolted and the rear end straps wont come off. As soon as I get it fixed to be able to drive again, I will be taking it to a shop.

That's about how it goes for me, too. As anyone who's ever worked on a truck with me can attest, as soon as I ask for a different tool than I'm using and someone grabs it, I get the job done with what I had in my hand. Nevermind...
