Need some info on a Dana 80 swap really fast
Ok I have 2 Dana 70s both banjo's have stubs that are pooched
They can rebuild the stub's but way to much money
I have found a dana 80 from a 2001 early drums i have 16 inch rims will this work and what do i need to do to bolt it up

If it's a dually, the rims wont fit. SRW, should work, but not positive.
E-brake cables will bolt on, so to speak. I put one in a 92 D350, and the only thing I had to do was move the holder bracket under the frame.
You will also need some 5/8 u-bolts, and unless you have plenty of length, the D70 u-bolts wont be long enough. 4" tube on the 80 vs 3.5" on the 70. I did bore out my mounting plate holes and made it work, but I wouldnt do it again. I know where some D80 bottom mounting plates are if you're interested- PM me.
Brake line is a direct fit.
U-joints are the same.
I had the driveshaft shortened 1-1/4". That gave me about the same wiggle room in the splines as the stock D70.
You can take the shock mounts from a D80 truck and make them work on a 1stGen, and have 2ndGen shocks in the rear.
If I left something out, holler.

So if I found a dana 70 life would be good for me then , this truck has the skyjacker springs so towing will be limited anyways ??? right
