Need a part number and a name for what I am looking for

In my W250, at the propeller shaft going from the NP205 to the front differential, there is this accordion type rubber boot, which I believe is some type of seal. Can anyone tell me where to buy one new other than the dealer? Do any of you have a part number? And finally, is this easily replaced. Mine is torn in half. thanks in advance

All it is is a dust/mud/water cover for the slip joint in the drive-line. To replace it you have to remove the shaft, pull it apart and put a new one on, had to do it on my old Toyota. All that it really is, is a shock boot. I would look for a similarly sized boot and zip-tie the ends to the shaft (with plenty of grease in the slip-joint). Don't know about the part number though. Hope that helps.

That's my dillema-Other than my local NAPA(they said no way on that. I even brought in the FSM to show them the picture), and no way to the dealer, I haven't got a clue as to where to source this boot. Do you have part numbers??

I have no idea if you could get a replacement for the factory unit. All it is, is a shock boot: just get one that fits, I believe that most shocks are the same size, and they are stretchy so you can make them fit. Here is a selection from summit:

I would get one that looks right and try it, your local parts store should be able to get a generic boot as well. just zip-tie the ends and you'll be fine, These boots just prolong the life of the slip joint. the rear didn't even come with one (I think). I have seen fords with on on each shaft before. As long as you don't run off-road in water/ mud, you should be fine without it for a while. It just keeps grit out of the splines. You should have one on each shaft.

Sorry I don't have the part #, Maybe Wannadiesel will chime in, If anybody knows, its him

Again I hope I was a Little helpful
