need opinions on a big decision

ok folks i need some help. im looking into getting a set of injectors for my 93 and cant make up my mind. the truck is my dd and i do a little towing( 2 or 3 atv's ). i was thinking about a set of 5x12 but really leaning for some 5x14s to pair with my hx35. as far as my driving would i risk burning up anything with the 5x14s? what would yall suggest.
thanks collin

i run what i think are 5x.014. i have a ground stock fuel pin and i rotate it when i tow heavy- 8k to 25k. i usually run a 7 blade hx-35 and can control egts fine even in the mountains. i tried 5x12s and wanted more fuel. get the 5x14s . or pods

Your not going to melt anything if you keep the EGTs in check. If your pulling a grade and it wants to get hot just slow down and gear down.

I have DDP 5x14s in my 93 and they work well with an hx35, i pull a car trailer and all sorts of stuff on it and never had a problem towing.
Only time i had to watch egt's was when i was playing.
one thing i suggest is an upgraded lift pump when you get the injectors i went low pressure piston and am happy with that.

Would I have anything to worry about if I installed the injectors before a new lift pump?

Not immediately, but it is a good idea the stock diaphragm pump cant keep up with bigger injectors.
the result is fuel pressure dropping to the point where the injection pump has to draw its own fuel which prematurely wears the injection pump out.

I'm hoping my local performance shop did not lead me down a bad road. I had been complaining of high egts and slower than what i expected got spool up with my Phatshaft 62. They told me the stock injectors didn't feed it well enough and that larger ones would improve spool up and lower egts. The company i ordered the injectors from told me the same thing so we will see.

A larger turbo will always spool slower, just the physics of it. Doesn't mean it won't make more power!

On a side note, if you watch EGT, you can get whatever injector size you want. I've towed with 5x18s on my 95, and I just used my right foot to keep it under 1200.
