Need a little help!

I recently "Fixed' My mirrors, and I ended up having to break the glass, to get into the mirror body itself.
I have the electric mirrors, and I cannot seem to find the glass replacement for them, I have checked out almost every parts store under the sun and I cannot seem to find them.
Also, when I do get them, What would I use to glue them onto the plastic peice that the mirror goes onto?
Also, The way it looked, it seemed impossible to get into the mirror motor without busting the glass. Since there is a nut under the glass that holds the plastic peice to the motor.
Sounds confusing I think!

So all in all, I need some help finding the replacement glass for the mirrors.
Also, If nobody can help me find them, could someone measure their original mirrors, so I can get the measurements. (since mine are in 100,000 Little pieces)
Thanks A Million,
Wheelo

You can have a glass shop cut mirror glass to any shape you want.

It doesn't have to be special glass; plain old mirror-glass will last as long as anything on a side mirror.

Go to a carpet store and get a roll of two-sided carpet-tape.

This stuff will hold better than welding.

THANKS BEARKILLER,
Do you have the factory mirrors, if so, could you measure the glass itself. I found a wide selection of mirror glass, but I need the measurements so I know which one to order.
If you dont happen to have factroy mirrors, Could someone give me the mirror glass measurements almost as close to exact as possible?
Thanks,
Wheelo

Wheelo,

Just measured mine. 8 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches high. I couldn't even begin to help you on the radi, other than to say the outer most corners have a larger radius than the inners.

Hope this helps ya out!

I would use a piece a cardboard and trace out the exact shape you need, then take that to the glass shop and have them make it for you.

I had the electric factory ones my previous truck a '92 and was able to find replacement panels at the local O'Reilly parts house. I think it was like $10 not including RTV to glue it back on.

DOH! Sorry I missed this one. They are in fact the stock electrical mirrors.
