Need Help

I was driving home today, nothing fancy, and all of a sudden my 93' revved up and in no time Ijumped from 70 to 95. It was not on purpose either. Could it be my throttle sticking or could it be something weird. Hopefully somebody has had this happen to them or knows somebody because i need to fix it badly. thanks in advance for any help!

Sounds dangerous!!! Did you hit and hold the cruise control button by accident?

There was a recall on these trucks in the early 90's with the Cummins for having this symptom. The injection pump was or will be replaced at no cost to the owner of the truck ,regardless of age or milage, if the number on the injection pump is on the list of the recall.
There is info on this form about this recall.

How were you able to get it slowed down?

Will it idle now?

The only way I could get it slowed down was by burning of the brakes and evententually after about the third try I got it to turn of. Then I just sat back and watched the radiator boil over. I started it back up about 30 min later and it was white smoking and blowing antifreeze everywhere. and it kinda idled a little rough

Sounds like it blew the head gasket and ran away on its own oil.
