Mysterious Gizmo On Differential

Question Mysterious Gizmo On Differential

On top of the center of the "hog's-head" of the Dana 70, on the wife's truck, is a strange looking apparatus, with a very limber wire, or hose(I couldn't tell which, nor see where it went), plugged into it.

There are three other Dana equipped trucks, in the yard, and none of them have such an apparatus.

What is this gizmo; and, what function does it perform??

That is the speed sensor for the RWAL system. It tells the ABS computer how fast the ring gear is turning.
