My new 93!

Finally getting my new rig, a 1993 that appears at first glance to be a virgin truck, with 91k on it. Im getting it shipped from the west coast to the east, because all of our trucks are rust buckets. Time for the festivities to begin...................

No, its the result of an exhaustive internet search that lasted a month. I really needed a new truck, and I really wanted a 12v Cummins. I was going to purchase a 2nd gen 12v, but the budget dictated a 1st gen, plus I really hate unit bearing hubs!!!

sounds exactly like my search for a CTD, cept mine took about 3 months! 1st gens are not easy to find in socal. mine ended up being 300 miles from home. my travel limit was about 1000 miles.

anyway, good lookin truck ya got there!

Just a note of caution, a few 1st gen ctd owners have found that some of those waggon wheel rims don't have the weight rating to hold up these heavy bastards, experiencing cracks and rims out of round etc.. if you plan on running those, do a thorough inspection and keep an eye on them.

Shes looks like a nice truck and Welcome to the board, once you get her fill out your signature so we all know the specs of her. If you skim through some pages on the forum here your bound to fall down the slippery slope
Good Luck with the new ride!

I actually was planning on replacing the rims almost right away with a set from an online retailer, who is blowing them out, but I was trying to find out the load rating on the Ion series aluminum rims!! I think intake, exhaust, and gauges are first, followed shortly by a torque converter, 3200 spring, and some adjustments. I just want the power, without affecting mileage (unless its a gain!!)

Great looking truck....Wow, nice find..

I would go about doing a little tuneup when you first get going on mods. Namely a valve set and timing check. When I got my 93 with similar mileage on it, the timing had worn down to 1° instead of 10° stock.. Small investment to start off on the right track IMHO...

Good luck!!

Great looking truck !!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first gen. is getting freshened up and i hate to say it but i`m going to have to sell.(Yea bummin)
I live up here in snow belt area now and its 2 W dr,I need something i can put a plow on and plow up this long hill iI have for a drive. (I~M BUMMING) I checked and it would cost a fortune to convert to 4 W . I`ve had it for 8 yrs now and never let me down,a fiew frustrating electrical problems (that i`m still working on ) but its been the most dependable veicle ive ever owned!!!!!!!!
Last weekend My son and I hooked on to a car trailor and went to Blumington IN. and picked up a 1992 mustang for him, round trip about 950 mi with out overdrive used about 65 gal of fuel, and she never groned just pured all the way there and back, must have passed 20 veicles on side of road and never once worried about joining that group!!!!!!!!!!!

Another wow! If the pictures do it justice, it'll be good to you.

You don't even have the truck yet and you are sliding down the slippery slope already.
