My Chinese Turbo Experience.

Does a lot of manufactured Chinese stuff stink ? Yeah it does...
Why ? Because we're the dumbarses that ask for it. We (our suppliers) order cheap stuff, because the american public wants cheap stuff. It's OUR.... meaning mine, yours and anyone else who shops based upon cost and actually purchases "off shore" crapola, responsibility for this happening.
When we decide to buy American, German, and any other countries manufacturer that makes good stuff.... then the Chinese will have to either put up, and make better product, or go away.. Unfortunately, trying to get the american public to "think alike" is less likely to happen than me hitting the lottery for $500M ....
I have German pliers that I bought of Amazon..... and they're sweet....

I'm glad you had good experience. And in the same I believe it all depends on the manufacture. I tho had bad experience. I bought an aftermarket Chinese turbo parts brand hx40. First time I spooled it past 30psi I had white smoke coming from my tailpipe. Bearings had failed. At this time I will say I had 1300 miles on it. Did get me from point a to b during the time I saved up for a better turbo.
What brand Chinese turbo did you buy

Bosch is good, and has been since I can remember, which is a long time.
Modern German techies are always right, just ask them. Had one blow a big optical presetter sale for me by telling the purchasers that his observation that the calibration mark was off was in error. (It was off for sure, and the problem was a simple configuration item.)
I have many other experiences, but I digress.

I put a Chinese turbo on my son's 99 VW several years ago that has been problem free. I couldn't see spending $1500 for a turbo on a $2000 car. I don't remember the brand or where I bought it from other than it was on ebay.
