Unhappy My 93 is gone...

Sorta like one of those bitter sweet things.

In the last couple of months I have been combing the dealers and personal sales adds for a nice 2nd gen truck to replace the two trucks I have. I had this 93 as well as a 96 2500 4X4 LWB with a 360 . Enough was enough with the 360 as its my work truck and I drive it more than the diesel.

Finally last friday I found a 97 2500 Club cab CTD 5spd LWB with only 140,000 Km (87,500mi) on it. A one owner truck that was clean and untouched by mechanical might. Needless to say I delt off the 2 trucks for one and I am picking up the 97 today..

Its a sad day to finally move to a 2nd gen after driving 1st genners for 6 years. Now I need to get aquinted with the P7100 pump and start from scratch again.

First thing will be to get the timing and set the valves, then the KDP will be nixxed. I think I am deeming this rig [b]Project 400[b/]

I will still be around here all the time, I hope to be able to help while my memory is still in good health..

Texashardcore, how about a trade on pump tweeks?? I need to learn alot about 2nd gens now..

I'm amazed at the attachment we develop between us and our rides. I've got an old truck, 15 years old, bought it new, put maybe 200 miles a year on her now. I can't sell her! I love that thing....

Sounds good. I'll get a 2nd gen soon enough myself, but I'm keeping the '92. As far as the pump tweaks...these guys could probably give you better advice than I can. Good luck with the new rig, and keep us updated on the BOMBing!!

Kinda know the feeling also, I cant seem to part with my first gen even though its been a love, hate relationship.love the power and milage and the CTD, but them repair bills are killin me.Every time I load the camper and tow anything im in redneck heaven. And my gasser chevy 4x4...... The thought of parting ways..... Ive had to use it to tow the CTD in twice now. I didnt think it would pull a 6k+ truck on a 2k flat bed trailer like it did. gets about 6mpg doing it.

Well, I for one will miss your sagacious input around here.

Good luck with the new truck!
