It's kinda difficult to work with/sand, but it contains fibers and is VERY strong.
Then smooth with ChromaLite which is actually easier to work with than old fashioned Bondo.

You don't get the air bubbles that you do with Bondo.
I don't think you can get either at Advance or Auto Zone, we get them from a auto body shop supplier.
Nice, I'm putting this in my notes. Bondo has the fiber glass resin stuff that is a pita to sand. Usually have to wasp it :P I'll give what you mentioned a go!

Ya caught us
That's one shortcut we are doing. Mainly because of the clips. The one on the door, we had to take off, and the clips are very brittle. So, since we're going to paint it the original blue anyway, with silver sides the rest of the trim stays. We couldn't find the clips either, so it was either take the chance and possibly have to remove them permanently, or go this route.

Yea, we've used this combo a lot. The Duraglass is hard to sand too, but nowhere near as bad as resin.
And if you use Chromalite once, you'll never go back to Bondo. VERY easy to work with, very smooth, easy to sand, and no air bubbles. And, if I remember right, double check me on this, but I think it's cheaper than Bondo too.

Thanks,
We do use 2k and I think it's Martin Senour, something like that. I'd have to ask Steve, but it's what we get from our local NAPA. For base/clear we go to the body shop supply store to get PPG.

Sweet! I'm going to paint my truck black next year when I get some money. Summit racing had pearl black paint for 100$ and clear coat was not bad either. I need to get into air-brushing!
