Unhappy Murdered H1C. Help?!?

Hi all, been a while.. Recently killed my H1C turbo on the ole gal. While taking it off, I saw where it was getting adequate oil, no seals were blown or leaking. Shaft is just locked up. Upon further inspection I saw where the compressor wheel had chewed into the housing pretty badly.
Called a few local shops who quoted me around $900+ for a new one and $800 to rebuild what I have..
Personally, the truck isn't worth a whole lot money wise. Any advice ?

I would look for a used turbo. There are usually plenty around for a hundred or two.

A c-list 351 cw can usually be had for two - three hundred.

HX-35's from 2nd gen trucks are cheap and good substitutes, also.

For that amount of coin I'd be looking at box a 362. But like others have said stock turbo's off newer trucks are cheap and upgrades. Tax returnsare starting to come in so guys will be uunloading their old stuff.

Found a deal on a decent used one that was laying around. Should I be worried about the seals being rather dry rotted and leaking?

Never a bad idea to pull a turbo apart and at least check it out with the housings off. But if you don't see any oil in the housings and shaft play is ok you could just throw it on.
