I think most people experience a slight decrease with POD's, at least in town. They also haze at idle and smoke a lot. If cheap power is what you're looking for and you don't tow much, POD's should do the trick.

My highway mileage stayed the same but I lost 2 mpg in town. You can see where the extra fuel went, though.

gman07`s got it right, they are hazy smoky beasts...BUT they make good cheap power. My truck avg`s 18-20 mpg`s, thats a mix of hiway and around town. I don`t drive with a "light" foot either so I won`t gripe. My biggest rub with the POD`s is that darned idle haze, for some reason it really bugs me. I don`t mind a little coal when I`m on the skinny pedal but just sitting at a stoplight and getting stunk out kinda...well...stinks.

Chris, do you have the thin washers under the POD's?

Mine didn't haze, they just stunk. Smelled like an old Detroit.

No, actaully I JUST got back in the house from doing new starter contacts (Larry B`s...very nice) and a new battery. While i had the hood up I was looking at the injectors thinking how I have a set of .020`s in my tool box, currently have .060`s in there (thats what shipped with them). I might give it a try as I certainly don`t have the scratch for a set of EDM`s.

Yeah, put the thin washers in. That will get rid of the visible haze if you have enough timing.

thanks for all the info guys.....please feel free to suggest alternatives to PODs....i generally don't tow...but want to be able to safely when necessary.
i am shooting for about 300-350 horse...and know i'll need new injectors for that kind of power.
thanks

I have DDP 4's. They are nice but pricey. I don't get the "POD stink" out of them like PODs get. Cleaner than PODs for sure. But then again, I do have a Club cab long bed, so it may just be the fact that I'm about a mile from my tail pipe!

Everyone within a mile can see where it went.

I had to really jump on it today to accelerate from stop to 60 to fit into a tiny break in eastbound traffic on US98. No problem in doing it, but the guy behind me in my lane turned on his headlights coming thru the cloud. Wonder if he was trying to say something.

Regards, DBF

I haven't heard any negative comments on the reliability.

not at all redneckjew......your question is important too. How do the DDP 3 and 4's compare to the PODs?

3's are about the same power-wise, 4's are a little bigger. Both idle a lot cleaner. I don't know about the economy. My EDM's didn't hurt mileage over the POD's, but they didn't help it either.
