Do you mean you have no power with the key on, and did the problem start when you changed the contacts?

should be a fuse link with red and blk wire goes to ign swt. you sure you have these hooked to batt.( disconnected when you dropped cable to work on starter.

Could be the bulkhead connector? I`ve had them give me probs on other Dodge trucks I`ve had. It`s on the firewall near the master cyl, it`s held together by a 8mm(5/16) bolt in the center. Pop it apart and look for green crud on the contacts.

If you had power to everything before you "fixed" it, and only changed the starter contacts, I would suggest that you start right there and take it back apart and reclean things and put it back together. Many times I have run into that same scenario and found one wire end has just enough corrosion left on it to break contact, causing one circut to not power up. Sometimes a wire drops down and you miss it when reassembeling it. Good luck
