More Help and Thoughts - Thanks you all

Let me start out be saying Thanks for all the info and advise that I have recieved from this site. Thanks everyone

I know I have see threads on these but now I can not find it. I am going to but a 2nd gen intercooler in my truck. Looking for pictures and advise. I am using a stock intake off of a 03 I believe and my 91 turbo. I believe it is h1c. Correct me if I am wrong. Not sure of the houseing it is either a 16 or 14.

The second thing is I put a hole in the Rad on the move from Pahrump to Pocatello. So I am replacing it with a alumium double pass rad. The inlet and outlet on the passage side. Has any one done this?

After I figure out have to post pictures, I have a few to show. I sure that a few of you seen the further Crew Cummins beeing pulled on I-15 last October behind at 03 Cumming (that I cann't offer - Daddies.

Thanks again.

I'm noticing by your post, you've probably had as many beers as me! <----That should be a beer bottle, NOT a coffee cup!

Anyway, to answer your questions. Yes, your stock turbo is a H1C. And the housing volume number will be stamped on the backside of the hotside of your turbo. In other words, the HARDEST place to read numbers! Best way to do it is get you a small mirror and flashlight. Shove the mirror against firewall, and shine the flashlight into it at the right angle until you can read the number cast into the housing. Good luck with that!

Oh, and BTW. Have you looked into putting a FERD Intercooler in your truck? I believe some folk(s) here have done it with some pretty good results.

Good luck!

From all the cutting, torching, welding, and fitting, that it looks like you have been doing, according to the changeover of the crew-cab to 4x4, then Cummins, what I am going to suggest should be no hill for a climber like that.

Replace the eeny weeny Dodge radiator with the MASSIVE one out of an 83-86 Ford diesel.

They may have used these radiators in even later trucks.

Just go to Advance and get a ReadyRad to fit a 1985 F-350 A/C diesel manual, about $350, and make that fit in the Dodge.

Your cooling issues will be over.

I can pull a huge load of cattle, in the hottest weather, and never see the mechanical gauge above 180*, up hill and down.

How much bigger is that radiator, and how much work is it? I am all about the cooling.

Compare and you can do the math; also, the Dodge is three-core and the Ford is four.

I did some quick pencil work and my scientific calculations yield a 77% cooling advantage for the Ford radiator.
