You could get the Ford rims from the same era that were 16 x 7 and can still use the hubcaps and beauty rings. You would be able to fit a bigger tire on the rim. I forget what years though. Somebody here knows, it's been talked about before.

Ok, thanks for all the info guys. Still unsure what size to get. I like the look of 92smokin blacky's. Maybe I'll start there.
I'll probably stick with the stock rims though....

As an aside, I turned up my pump last night and turned down the idle. Unbelievable difference...it's not a dog anymore!

ive got the same size tires as smokin black 92, and as you can see in my aviatar picture, theres little to no room to spare in the front. they are as big as you want to go. they are mickey thompson ATZ tires.

Would you mind throwing a tape measure on them for me? Just so I can get a better visual idea of the size.
I do have it booked in to a local spring shop to get the front end lifted back to 'level'.

Very true, definitely not as popular as it once was.

Yeah 315's are too wide for my 17X8 rims.... They actually recommend 8.5 width for 315's.

ha ha yep, some people ask if its a hemi i just say can ya read?

My tires are Trail Mark M/S Radials made by Republic which i believe is part of goodyear. I've loved them. They are dang good tires and they get awesome traction especially in snow and mud. They look good and I have only seen a few other trucks with them before. I'm thinkin about gettin them again when these wear out. I've already put 15,000 miles on them and they are wearin good for the tread they have. I got a dang good deal on them too, just check with your local goodyear dealer or you can order them online.

Guys my dad has Ford rims and the factory beauty ring will not snap onto them. The cap will but the ring no. Maybe his are the wrong years.
