manual to auto, yes I'm crazy

I have a'90 4x4 manual parts truck for my Ramcharger conversion, but I want to go automatic as the RC is a '90 with an OD auto. I do NOT want to go with a 727..

What all is needed to make the manual '90 6bt work with a 518 other than trans, flexplate, converter, t-case, driveshaft in a '90 ramcharger with OD auto?

And after all of that, perhaps someone would like to trade the manual assy in my truck for a nice built auto assy?

Been over to ramcharger.com yet? Heres the thread on my build Mad Max did, he's doing another now. This is an 1989, 6BT/518

http://ramchargercentral.com/rcs-tds-durangos-etc/'red'-'89-rc-6bt518-(-thread-search-)/

The tread pretty much has step by step on there. You will also find "Ox" and "Nacho" in the "Diesel" thread on the home page, two others of his.

Nice swap!!! I think it also uses a different starter, so you may want to double check on that. And either the TPS sensor or pot to control shifts.

Wow, I really like that Ramcharger! I've been thinking long and hard about swapping to a reg cab and making it a short bed, or swap to a ramcharger because of the short wheelbase and light weight for the track. I found a ramcharger here in houston with a cummins already swapped into it too that looked nice. Its ohhhh soooo tempting me right now to go buy it.

I'm in S.Lake Tahoe, CA...

The parts truck is actually north of you and I'll be picking it up next week.

What all has been done to your trans? How many miles on it?

Thanks Mike,

I saw that thread, but only read into the first page. Saw your original thread as well.

Hey guys, Sorry I didn't see the PM's

The truck and tranny performed flawlessly from Centrailia Washington (where I picked up the parts truck), to home in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Now to trade the complete manual setup to someone who has a complete 91.5-93 Auto setup. Preferably built or low, easy, miles and nearby.

Potential suitors can email me at bilgerat671-AT-gmail.com

got it.

Would the nv4500 bolt up to a first-gen manual t-case?

I might just swap the 1-ton axles to my truck and make it a dually, then drop in a nv4500 and the manual t-case in my truck, take the auto from my truck and put it in the RC along with the engine from the 1-ton... remember which cup the ball is under?

I have a 94 that was a manual (missing trans and t-case) that still has the flywheel and adapter.. what else would I need for the nv4500? assuming clutch, bellhousing...

Would the '90 1-ton clutch fork and slave cylinder work with a nv4500?

Might as well swap over the p-pump setup from the 94 to my '92 while I'm at it.

Where's the classified section on this board so I can try to find a trade?.. My '90 4x4 manual setup for a complete 4x4 auto setup for a first gen.

MUST BE AN OVERDRIVE auto. I would like a built auto if i can help it. 47 would be nice but a 205 t-case and a trans controller must be included
