loose steering-borgeson shaft?

My truck has alot of steering shaft play, it seems to be mostly at that greasable piece down by the steering box, what is that thing called? Is it the borgeson shaft that I keep reading about? Where is the best place to buy one?(im in Canada) & what do they cost?
thanks
Doug

Yes, the Borgson is what you need.

The difference is amazing.

Found mine on ebay for a bit of a discount.

Not too hard to install, just some simple tools and some time. The hardest part for me was getting the old one off.

Yours is greasable ??

I never saw one with an Alemite.

The failure-prone original factory piece is called a steering-shaft coupler.

Is it the borgeson shaft that I keep reading about?
Borgeson is a brand-name for premium aftermarket steering shafts, columns, etc.

Borgeson makes a complete replacement steering-shaft that eliminates the el-cheapo factory coupler, using a genuine universal-joint instead, along with having telescoping/collapsing ability.

If you have a removable rag-joint, a two-U-joint shaft can be had that also eliminates the rag-joint.

Flaming River manufactures a really nice shock-absorbing two-U-joint shaft for those with removable rag-joints.

A removable rag-joint shaft has a roll-pin immediately above the joint.

The non-removable ones have the rag-joint flange forged right on the shaft.

Now, I have a question for the smarter guys.

The son's W-250 has a non-tilt column and a non-removable rag-joint.

The D-350 has tilt-column and a removable rag-joint.

How big a chore would it be to swap columns between these two trucks ??

Better yet, seeing as how we both prefer the look and bullet-proof function of the NON-tilt column, how can we best go about altering his non-removable rag-joint, such that we can utilize Flaming River's shock-absorbing shaft ??

Thanks.

Just search ebay for borgeson. I got mine for less than what Borgeson's web site advertises.
