I made mine out of 10in.channel.I would send a pic but dont have the camera right know. One thing I would recomend is dont stick it out there to far,its really hard on your front end.But I havent had any problems with mine. And it is heavy. The pipe is not the high tensile thin stuff. Its the heavy thick stuff.Which is where most of the weight comes from. And I used diamond plate for the top,and heavy diamond plate for the two support bars. And some expanded metal for the grille. On the bumper itself I cut the channel up on each side, just leaving it 10 would look to wide.Ithink it turned out really good and is really stout.I also made a rear bumper out of 8in channel.Which I also cut up on the sides. Are you gonna make one or buy one?

Will be making mine. I think I got somebody lined up with a tube bender to make any that I need in the hoops around the lights.

I was almost thinking 2x6x1/8 for the main support. Will be plenty strong with the D-ring attachments running all the way through it to the frame.

Take a look at the frame horns on the front of the truck . . . There ain't much there. I just got done making a plow mount, and there is very little material to attach to right at the front, and not much strength. So the guard might be strong, but it is only gonna stop things if it doesn't tear off or bend the frame . . .

my old truck bumper was custom built out of 3/8th metal. an it was bolted directly to the frame. i hit a tellephone pole and all it did was bounce off. no damage to the truck at all. i plan on making a new bumber out of 1/8th inch metal. you don't need thick metal to make a strong bumber it s just all on how you reinforce it. my old trucks bumber was to heavy and it made the trucks front in squat down
