Lets have a vote on Grill Guards

My chum says they are years out of style. I sort of like them but must admit I had one from the get go on my 91 Dodge Ram Diesel 250 but in the two minor accidents I had on the front end, the result of the guard being pushed back crushed the grill and hood and bodyman told me it did the most damage.
Still debting !! ?? And of course what ever might happen down the line the insurance would pay anyway.

I didn't want a grill guard or full replacement, but then...

With my truck barely 4 months old, I hit a cow at 70 mph just south of Dallas. Over $10K damage to front. I now have a full Ranchhand Legend front, nothing but ground hamburger next time it happens (with my luck it will happen again)...

I went with the regular bolt over grill gaurd. Didn't have the money for a full replacement. Ranch Hand wanted a lot for the full one. A friend of mine has the same gaurd on his Dually and it has dispatched several deer of late with no damage to the truck. I figured that would be good enough.

I like mine. I'm not sure how well it would actually protect the grill but it is made of some pretty heavy steel. It almost went into the back of a Durango yesterday when some knucklehead lady decided to slam her brakes on when the light turned yellow and she was already entering the intersection!!! Thank god the trailer brakes worked!!!

The bolt on grill guards from Go Industries and Ranchhand seems to hold up pretty good. Much better than any other bolt ons I have seen.

Full front replacement and full wrap around onthe rear of my dually from tough country coated with line-X.
This is to make sure whatever I hit I kill from cow, deers, honda's and toyota's or any other make of car that wanted to get in my stopping space when I have my trailer on back.
It is a nice intimidator when someone is doing 50 mph in the fast lane and all they can see is a big black steel bumper it tends to make their mind up to move and let traffic go on.
