Hi guys,

I have a question regarding lock up torque converters. How exactly do they work and what is thier purpose? And, which productions trucks come with them stock? I understand that locking them up has a performance benefit but am curious as to how they operate.

94 and up.
the 94/95 trans are mechanical vs the 96 up electronic.
lock up converter is exactly what it counds. using clutch plates.

 

I kind of thought that is what it did but wasn't sure.....and all trannys (automatics) 94 and newer have lock up torque converters?
