lock cylinder out - ignition

Is it a common thing to go out in the 1st gens?

1991 Ram 2500 the key just would not go in no matter what, I think the tumblers fell out of the lock or something.

It's all tore out now and starts with a screwdriver

wonder if it would be feasible to match the key in a new lock to the doors?

If you get a new ignition cylinder and key, just remove your door locks and take everything down to a good locksmith. They can re-key your door locks very easily to match your new key. And probably for a lot less then you think too.

Don't pick your nose with the truck key. It gums up the ignition switch.

Seriously, a little dry graphite now and then goes a long way toward keeping them in service.

Thanks - it isn't my truck but I'll pass it on.

Now I'm going to have to fuss with the brakes too - been informed they went out. Probably a cracked line or something, pedal slowly bleeds to the floor truck stops really slow
