The Little Sectrets of a VE Pump?
The Little Sectrets of a VE Pump?
OK guys I have modded my truck to where my pocket book has currently allowed. I think I have a fairly quick truck and I have tried to use some of the best parts available to me.(see sig) Now it is time to work on the little things that cost virtually nothing but time and patience. I have searched and searched for all the little tricks but there is typically little info on how to do certain things . In an effort to help out our whole 1st gen community please post all of your experiences with the small intricacies of the VE that add up to big horsepower. I realize that some of this stuff is kinda considered hush/hush but we are all after the same thing right? 1,000,000HP!!!
Anyway I know there are things like doing the 14mm head, 3200rpm spring, fuel pin, adjusting the pump, etc. that are well documented but I want all the little stuff. I'm intrested in grinding the afc lever, elongating fuel screw, adjusting/modifying internal components, drilling taping for 2nd feed lines, etc. Any and all info will help everyone. Please post as much info on doing the mod as well as your overall impresion after the change. Thanks everyone.

I second Dave on the AFC grind. While I don't have big injectors, it still takes a lot of right foot control to stay clean around town. And, the dern thing actually spools faster if I roll into it than if I just drop the hammer. My pump is presently in about a gazillion pieces and I 'may' make some adjustments to the timing piston/spring for a little more HP up top
