check your fuses and check the headlight switch. Sounds like it is overheating(common problem)
I had one get hot enough to melt away from one wire connection and it caused a intermitant taillight problem...

I'v been fighting the same problem with no luck,my lights strobe, even the dome light when the headlights are not on,my cablights, taillights, parking lights are on a relay outside under the hood and not on the lightswitch anymore after burning up 3 switchs[headlight] i pull a gooseneck a lot and the factory switch can't handle that many lights.you said the voltage reg. was new, I thought yours like mine was in the computer, in the STICKY there is a write up about puting a external VR on our trucks that may be the way 2 go.Good Luck

I can't help but thing there is a ground that looks good........but is not.

Get some car jumper cables and start jumping ground and see what you fine............for that matter you could run the pos. cable directly to the pos of the alt just for fun
Maybe unplug the alt cable were it plugs into the bat and check for corrosion there?

There is a dedicated ground for the computer........triple check that one, before you condemn it.

Flash.

You've got a bad diode in the alternator.
It'll charge fine and all but anything to do with lights will be flickering.
You should be able to buy the diodes as part of an alternator rebuild kit.
