Why is it so many people seem to think FASS and AD are the only options for fuel pump upgrades on these trucks?
(queue BGILBERT: "I made 4xxhp with a piston pump and stock fuel lines.")

hardheaded,

I just saw you live in Beaumont. As soon as I get my electric pump in I am taking the mechanical LP off. Its only 6 months old and has maybe 5k miles on it and runs a steady 8psi. You can have it if you want it.

It only takes a few seconds to spin the dyno.

If you want electric you could install a Walbro. Do it right and the fuel pressure gauge is boring.

In my openion its the best bang for the buck and is internaly regulated so its a simple hookup. I have less than $200 tied up in new 3/8" fuel line, big remote fuel filter, carter pump, and the relay & wire. Its not fantsy but it will push enough fuel for over 500whp. I doubt I'll ever be able to pull enough fuel to even see the pressure drop any.

Like Wanna said, do it right and the fuel pressure gauge is boring. Which is a good thing.

I don't think so. But I'll remember that next time I connect a garden hose to my injection pump!
