Lift Pump or intake screen?

My lift pump has read out 5 psi pretty steady since install, @WOT about 3psi, but I really have to want it to get there, the other day when I was at the bottom of a tank it was reading 3.5-4 cruising, so I filled it up and back to 5 psi it went....so my question is, is this a sign of a weak lift pump (its pretty new, but I'm considering the piston pump) or something more indicitive of a clogged screen in the tank? The filter(FS1220) is pretty new , and my gauge is pre-IP, could it just have been clogging up with unmixed 2SO at the bottom of the tank? or is this normal for stock lifties? thankx

The numbers look fairly normal for a stock-type diaphragm pump.

The lower the fuel is, the harder to draw, thus the lower numbers with a low fuel level.

For what it's worth, I have yet to see a stock diaphragm pump put out the specified 7-PSI; most average between 4 and 5.

You will like the piston pump; it is a lot more bullet-proof.
