I'm thinking if you just take this Part # 4690522AB to your local dodge dealership you'll be fine. But to answer your question, I don't know. I'd guess all second gen trucks with an auto used that button shifter. Try hitting the local scrap yard to try to find one.

98-02 2nd gens...98-01 in gas trucks.

94-97 trucks with the older interior use the o/d button on the dashboard, not in shifter

I lucked out and found one in a boneyard. It was a gasser so be stuck just checking diesel trucks. I picked it up for $15 Works like a charm! I removed the original switch but kept the plug intact on the harness. I then installed a 3mm amber LED in the tach pod & wired it to the plug.

I did the 2nd gen shifter mod on a 92 and a 93 . I did as suggested and hooked the switch up in parallel . and in both cases the od light works off the column switch , just for any one who wants to know.

Just wondering about how much visibility did you loose of your speedometer?

Looks like you might loose sight of the trip odometer, PRND12 and the high side of your speedometer.

Might be ok for most people but for someone with OCD it could drive them crazy

I'm 6' and can see the trip OK but nothing past 90mph - but then who's looking at the speedo after 90+ anyway?

Thank you David.....

Your help was truly appreciated, as the ISSPRO R5503 worked great. and GENO's was a breeze to purchase from.

..although my video skills are a little lacking. It's a little wobbly... sorry....

Just thought I'd add some info here. If you have an older Isspro R-1604-4, 4K tach...it will not fit the steering column single pod holder due to the housing for the light that sticks off the back of the tach by about 1/2".

It will go into the gauge pod, but bottoms out about 1/4" shy of sitting flush. So I'm off to find a good deal on a new Isspro R5503 tach.

Besides the 89 D250 I have a 03 hemi that I moved the OD function to the buttons located on the back of the steering wheel. These were originally for radio controls which my truck didn't use. The OD function is just a momentary switch, so any momentary switch will work. I want a tach on my 89 and have bought a harmonic balancer with grooves, oem mag pickup and mount. I'm hoping I won't need a PCM interface and wire it like a standard magnetic pickup. We will see. Great write up.
