Question Le Tailgate Trim ???

The wife's truck came with a plain jane dark gray tailgate.

Her truck is a two-tone LE trim package, black top and bottom, silver center.

Can someone post a picture of what a LE two-tone tail-gate should look like??

There are a zillion 1st Generations around here, but very few with beds and hardly a one with a good tail-gate to look at.

I would imagine there should be some sort of chrome center section in the LE tail-gate.

Thanks.

Cool

This is what a 1992 1/2 LE tailgate looks like, Please ignore box side because that and fender flair have been repaired , also put on new bumper and painted whole truck.

Smile Many Thanks

Thanks for taking time to show me what I need to do.

Where on earth am I going to find that big wide trim piece in good shape??

The tailgate she has is the wrong color and plain as it gets.

Maybe after I paint it to match the truck, I won't need the chrome piece.

We'll see how it turns out.

My list of projects is sure growing.

Materdiesel's looks pretty nice...

Seriously, those things are made of unobtanium. If you have a nice one, guard it with your life.

My red trim piece has seen better days as well. I bought a 20ft long 4in wide strip of 3M self-adhesive red reflective safety tape off ebay. Haven't got it cut to the right width yet(I think about 3 3/4in or so), but I'm planning to peel the original completely off, remove the adhesive and lay 'er down! It may not be exact replacement/color and that pliable plastic(?), but I'll bet you will see the hind end in the dark!! Should complement the Maxximus 12-led marker lights, yes? I couldn't come up with any other solutions for a missing/ugly trim strip. Anyone else have an idea?
PS
Bumper now replaced with pre-83 'thin' style...lost the step bumper, but looks better than this rusted/sorta bent one. Also added the 'Cummins Turbo Diesel' lower portion emblem centered below the 'E' of DODGE(no 'RAM 350' though), something I think Dodge should always have done; badge the rear of the truck too! :-)

I have the trim on my truck but the only thing that I can show is the short clip I posted on Utube. Well, not that short but might help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHXLMUmFBNs

I am amazed to see so many of the red strips still in decent shape. I remember replacing many for coming off while they were still under warranty!
