the latest on ALCOA wheels for first gens (and others I guess)

check out this cool link! With all the discussion about OEM wheels being made by ALCOA, here is the proof in the pudding. I have seen all the ford SD wheels, in 8X6.5 options and also H2 wheels... The interesting thing is that the H2 wheels are only good to 2700 odd lbs weight rating!!! ooops to all of those who are running those... Anyway the interesting thing is that the tried and true strongest wheel they offer still stands at the mid 90's ford alcoa at 3750 bls and 110 psi 16X7...

have fun

those are the ones I got for my truck, the factory ford ones. they are heavier rated than the american racing rims I took off as well.

Funny about the hummer rims...

Thumbs up I agree!

PapeCAT,

Nice find on the article. I do have a set of the Ford mid-90's Alcoa's. I think they look better than most aftermarket wheels! The design is completely sound and also a simple style, making them easy to clean. I'd like to see more pics posted of 1st gen's running them, especially 4x4's.

here's mine. I've got that really cool Dodge paint that slowly changes color to grey over the years.

Is anyone running chrome hubcaps? or hub covers? I always see these wheels without hubcaps. I'd like to see what a person can do to hide the rusty/nasty looking rear axle hub and front locking hub assembly (if 4x4 equipped).

Mine are just chrome rims but they have hub caps front and rear and look clean, when theyre not rusty. However, next week I am getting my 2002 alloys to slap on....im getting anxious what with the center caps, spacers, and lug nuts sitting here lonely.

Howdy:

Leper: Alcoa wheels for duallies - I have mounted Alcoa #160242 and 160241 (one serial number is for front, the other for rear) - they were spec for Ford dually. There are two little studs on the rim that need to be punched out. Otherwise, your stock lug studs are the right dia. and give enough thread to fasten the rim. Your stock lug nuts will dig into the rim, so Alcoa has a 2-piece flange-nut for that reason, plus a cover for looks.

Firstgenfanatic: As for the the hub caps, Alcoa has a few different styles, primarily depth differences for the rear, and if you have a 4wd, a cover that's a little deep to my taste...

Here's an example on the pic., (click on thumbnail and max. window)

yes 16X7 8 lug by 6.5" spacing and the centerhole is large enough for your hub. Backspacing is perfect for first gens... 3750 lb load rating at 110 max psi. find them on ford trucks and vans pre superduty! they're getting rare and sought after now, however.
