Larger replacement fuel tank

Anybody know of a larger replacement tank for our trucks or who can make one?
Fuel is cheapest where I live and I am starting to travel a lot for the new job.
I want to stay away from an in bed tank-need the room.

3rd Gen tanks are 35gal. Maybe pick one up in a scrapyard and try to figure out how to make it fit. 5 more gal. is 100 miles on the highway.

I thought our tanks were 32.0 gallon, and I read on the literature for the 87 gasser I bought that it had a 36.0 gallon tank? Not much, but something. I really doubt there are the large, 80 gallon tanks like they built for newer trucks advertised in Diesel Power Mag. Your best bet will be either having someone custom make a larger tank, or retrofitting an old Chevy tank tank that goes outside the frame rail.

i moved my exhaust out board of the frame, to allow a second custom built tank, with cutouts for frame cross members, i got 36 gallons, to supplement the 33, i get well over the 1000 mile mark traveling, i still keep my spare 35" under the back

I know that you said to stay away from an in bed, but here is what I did. It is just a little larger than a tool box, has 91 gallons, gives me around 2200 to 2500 miles of range and I can put 8 to 9 sheets of 1/2 inch, 4x8 sheets of plywood in. The spares are all on hinges that fall out of the way if I need the room. I just think that if you are going to go, go BIIIIIIIIIG...Mark

Way back when I was a TDR member, inside the magazine they sent out, was an advertiser that produced 'larger replacement fuel tanks'. I think a 60 gallon unit that replaced the stock tank. I can't remember the name of them....

All replacement tanks I have seen Aero, Titan and Transfer Flow, are for 94 and newer trucks.
If I replace the stock tank I keep all my bed space and keep the center of gravity low too.
Was hoping for 10-30 gallons more.

Some have removed their spare under the bed and replace it with a Ramcharger tank. I think the tanks are about 25 or 30 gal.

The Ramcharger tanks are 34 gallon. Maybe you could mount your spare tire in front of the grill.

My 92 has a pair of "saddle bag" tanks outside the frame, but the two only total 24 gallons. My 91 has a 75 gallon L tank in the bed. Handy but, I need to get that space back somehow.
