which is the ksb

Is it just above the steering pump or in back of the IP ? If the ksb hasn't been working, did it do any damage?I understand what it does, but day in/out what would it do.

The KSB is located on the left side of the injection pump. The thing on the back of the pump is the fuel shut off solenoid. It doesn't cause any damage if it hasn't been working. It's just another thing they put on the engine to help with cold weather starting.

I belive this thread has a diagram of the pump with teh parts labeled and will point it out..https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...15&postcount=9

I beleive the only thing the KSb not working would do on a dily basis is mess with your fuel mileage...It does increase the fuel pressure and it is probably not real good for the IP to leave it disconnected for a long long period.....

Which truck, the 90 or the 92? They are different systems from the non-ic trucks to the ic trucks. Intercooled trucks use an electromagnetic solenoid that is rendered useless when unplugged. Non intercooled trucks use a wax motor solenid, kinda like a thermostat and actually NEED 12V to turn OFF. By unplugging the wire to the KSB on a non-ic truck, the KSB is enabled at all times, which can be hard on the pump over time.

It is the 92.Im trying to see if its working b/c it does run rough when started first thing, even in hot weather. It runs rich for a while which leads me to believe from what I ve read that this is the culprit. Is my thinking correct? Thanks.
