"I" would take out the rad. It is was easier to see and work in there without it and it gave me a good chance to have a look at all the components and give them a good clean. IE rads and intercooler and I inspected everything you can't see with all that stuff in the way.

I made my own gaskets and it was painless and saved me some coin.

If you "suspect" your water pump, change it. It beats ripping everything all apart again.

Be really careful of the wires of the crank sensor. They are brittle and can break or crack easy.

DO NOT FORGET TO LOCTITE THE INNER TIMING CASE BOLTS!!!!! Check out my thread on the devastation I ended up with.

I just printed off the sticky and it is all you need. A VERY well done format.

Have fun!!!!

Coffee for the repairs......beer for finished product.
The crank seal is easy to get in, if you buy the seal from cummins it comes with a metal guide. From there just take PVC pipe and give it a tap. The key is to put red thread lock all around it. The guide will stop the seal from coming out..Easy as pie

Not on mine.

I beaten horseshoes with less force than it took to get mine in.

Of course that's par for the course with my rig.
