Just picked up an HX35. Have ?'s

Hey guys I have a couple questions here. I just picked up a HX35 w/the cast turndown housing and downpipe off an 01 CTD for a 100 bucks. Fist question is since my truck is Non I/C will I need to fab up a new crossover pipe right? Im pretty sure I have to but I might have saw someplace where someone got it to work with the stock one. Now since I have to turn the snail shell counterclockwise to match up with the crossover, will I still be able to use the wastegate? If I can't use the wastegated housing can I put my 16cm housing on it? What are the HX35 mapped at, 35psi? Please tell me anything else I need to complete this project. Oil Lines, Gasket set, etc. I have never done a turbo swap so bear with me. Thanks.

It'll bolt right up. take off the cast elbow and the stock downpipe will mount up, or close. The HX35 is about an inch longer. What some guys do is run the 2nd gen cast elbow and then to a 2nd gen 4" downpipe and it just barely fits.

clock the compressor housing, It has nothing to do with the wastegate so that will be fine. You'll have to hook it up and buy/make a boost controller or just pinch it off and run it up to what it wants to stop at depending on how much fuel you got. The hx35 is efficient to about 35-37 psi, anything above that is hot air and testing the turbo's life.

you can make the stock crossover work with a reducer, but why? You ever seen the inside of that thing? Its not that hard to make one, 2 boots and a little section of 3" pipe slightly bent down on the part where it attaches to the compressor.

I believe you'll have to grind that flange off the end of the compressor housing outlet so the boot will go on, On an hx35 usually the intercooler elbow mates up to the compressor flange and has the special V band clamp. You dont need that so grind off the "lip" so the boot will slide on and you can clamp it

The wastegate auccuator on an 01 is on the compressor housing. No clocking the houseing unless you make a bracket .

yes the 16cm will work on the hx35.

why you'd do that... i don't know... part of having a hx35 is to enjoy the 12cm housing, expecially with the 5 speed... leave the 12cm on there and see if you like it, see what you egt's are at,

If you don't like it. its always easy to swap the 16 back on.

I thought that the 12cm spooled to quickly and the 16cm was a happy medium but it aint hard to change em out i guess. Will I need to get a new oil line or will the stock one work?

I don't think you would have changed anything if you put an hx-35 on with your old housing, and i don't think it will fit if it's off of your h1-c. I believe your baby h1-c with a 16cm housing would spool faster than an hx with a 16 cm housing.

I'm running a 12cm housing on mine and i hit 1200. You will need the the fitting that goes in the turbo for the pressure oil line. The baby H1C didn't use it.
http://www.siliconeintakes.com/ has about any silicone boots & T clamps you could need.

Just put the 12cm on. HX35/12cm .

You'll love it, if you don't like it, put the 16cm on the HX35, It will bolt right up and your egt's will go down.

I recommend cutting the divider in the 12cm housing so all 6 cylinders are wastegated and not just the rear 3. Port the crap out of it while your at it if you feel like it.

12cm= fun w/5 spd,fast spool. little higher egt's

put the 12 on. you'll love it

I don't. Kills the spool. If the wastegate can't keep your boost under control, then drill the divider.
