Thumbs up Just got done towing my boat!

Now that by itself doesn't sound like much but, if you have been reading about what I have been through the last few weeks you would understand my enjoyment. Towing 7200 pounds on 190's has reached a new high for me. 1600*F as a matter of fact . The new torque converter far exceeded any advantage my 4" down pipe may have had. Boost was around 25 pounds and the black smoke never completely cleared away. Trans temp however really was lowered almost 80 degrees which is good I'd imagine. Performance was quite pleasant. I feel like it pulls twice as hard as it did prior to the injectors, stage 4 and DTT converter. At sixty on level ground I saw 1200*F and some boost. The trans temp hit 210*, and the overdrive works, manually. Now for yawl's opinion .........water/meth, bigger turbo, throw out the muffler, or any combination of the three. Or just don't push it to hard.

Your boost sounds low. Are you sure your fix is holding?

Pull the muffin first. It's free and you can put it back. Sounds like you need a second turbo

I haven't checked that yet. It should be OK BUT?????????

I just got done testing the intake again for leaks. I had three. All were very small and took a few seconds for thr soap to react on except one. I apparently forgot to tighten the gauge line going into the gauge itself and had a large enough leak there to drop indication by five pounds. My actual boost is 30 PSI. The repair on the elbow is holding air tight. I replaced two more hump hoses with the marine exhaust hose and that eliminated the minor leaks.

I don't know if I want to go through the head and knuckle banging it would take to pull that muffler. It took me three hours to loosen the inlet pipe enough to remove it to do the down pipe.
Without the load on the truck egt's are running 1300 to 1350 degrees pre turbo. 1600 was wot pulling the boat up to about 65 mph, which is faster than I normally tow. At 60 on level ground and no wind it sat on 1200. I don't see how some people can pull fivers at 80 mph and have any pistons left.

I agree.
Some folks don't have their "Boast" Gauge hooked up.

David, what's your boost when cruising @1200? Do you have a FP gauge?

I'm Sonny, David is the smart one . I don't know exactly because the fitting was loose and I haven't pulled the boat after fixing that, but it was showing some boost. Things got too busy this afternoon to try. I know one thing. The boost shoots up right smartly in an empty truck with the 4" down pipe.
