I wasn't trying to knock the Craftsman in any way. I was just saying that if you think those are expensive you need to take a look at what the racers use.

Go with the 6 ton or better stands. I put some 3 ton stands under the truck up front when i did some work last spring because that was all I had. I needed 4 of them too make it look safe. As for jacks everyone has good luck and bad luck. My dad bought a dad years ago. Made in Japan. It has never give us any trouble. I have been thinking about getting a newer heavy duty truck jack when the right deal comes along.

notice that a few of you saying the cheap one has laster bought the jack long ago when quality actually meant something! even if it was the cheap model. long gone it seems are the days of building something to last. my grandmother has a fridge from 1952 and it's been through a flood. never been serviced! and it still works perfectly. it was built to last, i really don't think that my fridge purchased a few years ago will still be kicking in 2050!

My 96 year old granny still uses her 1946 General Electric refrigerator.

It is the kind that has a door latch like a refrigerated walk-in meat-cooler; you have to pull hard on a handle that operates a roller-latch; no door-seal leaks on that baby.

It has never missed a beat and has never had to have refrigerant added.
