And, seeing as how the 12vs are the most relaible, and from what i understand, the first gens get decent mpg. So, is there anything i should keep in mind if i do decide to get one? Some of you guys have beautiful trucks, and it seems like they arent that expensive either. Thanks.

Rust above the windshield. That is a major thing.

And just generally rust.

And maybe you might want to check for rust.

And, OHH! Did I mention rust?

You get my point, but rust above the windshield is a

I might better "touch wood" but I don't have any rust yet. I go to Baltimore about every winter and drive in that 4 letter word stuff (Snow and Salt); but when I return to Moncks Corner, I pressure-wash the fool out of her!!

ha, I got it. What I would like to do, is buy one from one of our members, one thats in pretty good shape. That way, I can trust that it wont be a junker. And yeah I realize what I just said. I think it would be less likely that id get scammed here.

Mines not a 1st gen, but I'll never own another truck that doesnt come with a Cummins. This truck has taken a serious flogging and kept right on kicking. :guitar:

Have patience. There are still some out there that are in great shape and not too high priced. I wouldn't be the least bit worried about buying one with over 100k on it, though I personally wouldn't buy one with 200k. You will NOT be disappointed with the capabilities of this truck.

Well, I have great patenince haha. I'm lucky i have something just as relaible as a cummins. But, I don't really want to get 15mpg anymore, I know the B wouldnt really get more than 20 or so (correct me if im wrong) but id much rather drive a first gen with some decent power.
