Been a while - looking to get back to a CTD - pricing?

Looking at getting back into a Cummins as I've been away too long.

This time, I want to do it the way I want, as opposed to the way the dealer directs me (with pricing/games).

I had an '04.5 Auto Crew before, 'off road' as they called it but it was basically just badging.

This time I want a ST, Vinyl Floors, Vinyl Seats, Crew Cab, Short Box, 6-Spd manual, Anti Spin rear axle, Sirius capability, and not much else.

I want Flame Red, True Blue, Silver, or Gray...not white or black.

What is a reasonable expectation of pricing on one of these? What have you guys been paying for your trucks? (Preferably info on ST/6spd/4x4/Crew).

Looking online they sticker for about 45k and I have seen a few dealers listing them at $39k. Is this bottom line or should there be more room?

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

Left-over 2012s are around $38k here. This is the best deal on a new 2013 I could find is here ($41.5k)....but it's white.

You should be able to find a 2013 that will fit your needs. Start out around $10K off MSRP and you will be pretty close to about the best deal to be had.

I see you just bought yours - was it on the lot, or did your dealer bring it in?

I wont find what I want within an 8hr drive. All of the stripped down trucks are either gone, or were never in this area. At least not the manual trans ones.

I'm curious what the best way to purchase one 'long distance' would be...

Fly into Spokane, they pick you up at the airport and you get to know your truck up and personal on the loooong drive home.

Just called Dave Smith...they are going to see what they can find. We'll see!

Dealing with car dealerships has got to be one of the worst things to do. I absolutely hate it. At least with Dave Smith, it will be mostly email/phone, and nothing in person until the deal is mostly done. Takes a lot of the hassle out of it.

I went into a dealer the other day, sat there for 3 hours, and accomplished nothing. Frustrating!

I'm a manual transmission guy, Real old school but I suggest you don't get the G56 and instead go for the 68RFE or better yet get the Aisin in the 2013. My son and I both bought new 2011's at the same time, he got the last manual trans truck in Canada at the time and I didn't want to factory order as I wanted white and wasn't sure I would get it because of the tsunami in Japan and many color choices being deleted so against all I thought I knew I chose an auto. I won hands down and my sons new 2013 is now an auto, yup after all he went through with the manual trans G56 he too is now converted. Don't do it.... just choose the auto you'll thank me in a couple of years.

My local Lithia did a dealer trade with another Lithia store 655 miles away. I found the truck I wanted online and approached them about doing a dealer trade. They trailered a truck from here to the other store and picked my truck up and brought it back. Dealer trades are very common. If you can find a truck you want talk to your local dealer to see if they can get it for you.

I had been also working with a salesman at Dave Smith in Northern ID on a similar truck. Lithia beat Dave Smith by about $2500 and I was able to keep my business local and not take two days off work to go fetch my truck. If you are just starting out, look at Dave Smiths website, find the truck you want and see what kind of deal they can offer to you. They get really aggressive on trying to get you signed by the end of the month so right now is a great time to start negotiating.

IF you are 2000 miles from Dave Smith I am guessing you are back east or mid west. Isn't there another Dave Smith type dealer back there somewhere also? I can't remember their name. Good luck.

I bought my '06 and '08 from them about 3 weeks apart in late 2008. No games, no dealer BS, none of the run-around we've all had. They even gave me a fantastic deal on my '03 when I traded it in for my '08.

If you can, buy from them. They came highly recommended and I'm passing that on.

I've been in contact with Dave Smith and my nearest Lithia dealer...neither of which have the truck I want.

I found one at Superior in Conway Arkansas. I haven't been able to get an answer back from them.

I want this truck:

Would prefer it in Flame Red, with a Sirius capable radio.
