Isspro Boost Sensor Location
Isspro Boost Sensor Location
Hello all. Curious if anyone else has encountered this issue. I was trying to fit my boost sensor for an Isspro Ev2. My truck is an 89 so non intercooled. I removed the throttle bracket and removed the boost 1/8npt plug from factory. The sensor is 1/8NPT but the bolt for it is 1” so it is really tight against the fuel lines. I could only tighten so far and had a lot of pressure on those lines. I also had to drill a hole in throttle bracket because it hit new sensor. Curious if anyone else has experienced this. Boost wouldn’t register on the gauge, I’m assuming it wasn’t threaded in far enough? Was curious if a boost adapter bolt for the 24 valve would work. It’s 1-8npt tapped for a sensor. It looks long enough to get the 1” nut out past the fuel lines so I’m not crushing them. Sorry for the novel. Any help would be appreciated.
Swap out the boost bolt for a 90 angled one to help with the clearance issue.
Or install the bolt in the intake plenum in place of one of the bolts.
Or install the bolt in the crossover tube from the turbo. To do this you will need to remove it to drill and tap it.
Installing a boost gauge is a pretty easy job, with lots of ways to make it happen.

Thanks Oliver. The 90 isn’t an option because it’s so tight between the bracket that holds the throttle and oil dipstick. All of the boost bolts I see are listed for a 24 valve but I assume the plenum bolts are the same thread for 12v or 24? I am going to try that,(boost bolt in plenum). If you were to tap the air crossover, where is the best location? On the side of the verticle where it goes into the engine or on top of the crossover? Thanks again for your help.
Years ago I ordered a few boost bolts from Geno’s Garage. I used them on a few projects and replaced intake plenum bolts with them to get a boost source.
If I was to tap an NON intercooled cross over tube. I would tap the hole in the back of it so running the boost line into the cab would be easiest.
Tapping it on top might get you close to the bottom side of the hood when it is closed.
