I was thinking about building a intake elbow for my intercooled cummins. not sure what size of pipe or how well it will work. Any help will be much appreciated.

Ive got one on mine. 2.5" is stock size, but 2.5" exhaust tubing is a LOT more open and better flowing. Heres mine. Mine is the crossover now, but Im gonna use it when I go intercooled as well, or make a 3" one, which is possible too. You just want to use thick enough steel for the base so it doesnt warp and give you leaks.

Looks good...

What thickness is the flange you are welding the pipe to?

Are you keeping the grid heater?

I used 3/8" I believe. I was gonna use 1/2" but figured 3/8 would do and it does. I kept the grid heater. Im using a blank right now, but fixing to drop a functional one back in it.
