Injectors???

I did some searching & couldn't find the answers I was looking for. I am new to the Desel world & am still learing.
So where is the best place to buy good injectors & has great customer support? How would you go about figuring out what size is needed? My 92 CTD is the donor that will be going into my Ramcharger. I have a 2000 all aluminum PS IC that's going into it. I need to get the ATS 3 piece exhaust manifold. Probably a HX40 or the HX35 turbo. The Denny T stage 2 pin I have & the 366 spring. I'm shooting for about 350 HP.

Thanks Guys!!

If your trying to do it cheap and dont tow anything heavy with it I would go with the lucas POD injectors. They are dirty but should get you the 350hp you are looking for. and the best part is no core charge on them and they run about $350.

I won't be towing anything heavy with the RC. It is a daily driver & toy. The price sounds good on the pods!!

Just be aware that PODS are a pretty dirty stick. Hot egt's and smokey. Not that my 6x16's are any better in that regard.

Very happy with my DDP 3 sticks that are good for "40hp" with no pump mods. Not too much smoke when not wanted, but plenty when you want to roll coal (and the pump turned up of course). I saw a mileage increase with them too. They were about $475 though. I wish I got the DDP 4's which are good for "80hp". But they were about $700 If I remember correct.

Thanks guys!!!

When they say 40 hp or 80 hp is that all they are good for? or is that a base line for comparison?

I went with POD's for my first set and was quite happy at first but then wanted more and you can only get so much out of them. If your going to purchase injectors I would recommend doing it once. Yea, it does cost more now, but I can assure you you'll be happier in the long run. I still get 19.5 - 21mpg daily driving with my 6x.016's. Not saying you should go that big unless you want to, but some 435's from New Era would be an injector that is relatively hard to "out grow". Just my $.02.

If you are referring to the HX40's breaking shafts, that's not an issue with a 1st Gen. I do agree with getting a Super HX40, just because it will flow more air.

Nope. In my many conversations with Brian Block about this very subject, he informed me that the guys breaking shafts with the HX40's are the high horsepower (500+rwhp) P-Pump pulling trucks. I have never heard (nor has he) of any 1st Gen breaking shafts, even in sledpulling. He has one (it may be a Super) on his tow rig, and if he was concerned with it, you can bet it wouldn't be on his rig.

Jungle, HX40's were never OEM on our trucks. There were some semis with 8.3L Cummins' (I believe) that did have them from the factory. As far as I know, the Super HX40's were never offered on any engine.

The C model 8.3 has a fair amout of applications. Including Ag. There are a ton of them here, and only because of what part of the US it is. (LARGE) wheat and corn fields. If you can find a farm impliment scrap yard, its like being in Valhala...

You can get more than the advertised 40hp or 80hp with those sticks. Juice the pump some and they will flow more better than the stock sticks. I've heard of a fellow putting 400hp to the ground with 40hp sticks, but thats probably the limit!
