Injector size...AND....what turbo....

I am thinking of going with something other than the stock set of injectors for my spare motor. Mods are going to be lite, 3200 GSK is about it. What injector should I go with ? Turbo will also be upgraded, but not until I know what injector will be installed.

I have heard that the POD's are smokey, which really doesnt bother me, but that doesnt mean that they are the best. I want something that is a little more than the stocker, more power, but is controllable and gives (hopefully) good mileage as well.

Along with your suggestions, please include a turbo that you believe works well with your set-up.

In my opinion Pods are the best injector for the money. They are a lil smomey but are controlable. I even got better mileage with my pods over stickers after the excitement of new injectors wore off. 5 hole or more injectors are gonna run cleaner and not haze as much but may not always make more power. I have a 5 hole injector in my truck now and it doesn't seem much stronger than it did with my pods and boost numbers are the same.

Just depends on what ya wanna get for the money. As far as a Turbo, id go with a 60mm compressor side or bigger. So 60mm upgrade, He351cw, hx40, or a 62 or 64mm turbo if ya have the funds

Im using sdx 5x.012's, they seem to be prety good injectors. They were $450+150 core. Theyre definatley better than stock as far as I can tell. I just installed a he351vgt, im definatley liking it prety good compared to the laggy 21cm h1c.

In my opinion Injectors and turbo is a package deal, without both the other the one is not optimize to full potential . Too much fuel or too much air. Better have more air than fuel. Look what a just a HX35 only does to a stock 1stgen.

Although if I was to start from scratch again I would start with Turbo, Exhaust, Intercooler, IC piping Lift pump and lines, guages PUMP rebuild, ETC ETC then find a set if injectors to match the motor.

True, id get a Turbo first and crank that pump up. You'll put plenty of fuel out with a maxed pump and wont be able to keep it cool with a stock turbo. So id start with more air

I would have to agree with bobva and 92smokin blacky on this issue. My HX35 almost doesn't push enough air and exhaust for my application. I'm working on a 4 inch exhaust system now to help lower my EGTs. VE pump has been turned up to nearly max, and unloaded driving up moderate hills I hit 1k on the pyro. So I either turn the pump down, or upgrade the exhaust system. If I had an HX40 to bolt on, I would install it in a heartbeat .

Not to hijack the thread. My EGTs are awesome. The highest I have hit was just over 1200* and that was pulling grades with a 6k lb load and 25-30psi boost. Empty I can punch it going up a steep hill and not go over 900*. My probe is pre turbo. Pump is cranked all the way up, and turbo is an HX35 with 4" piping. Thats all I got. I have always wondered why my EGTs are fairly low, but I like it.

Depends on what you use the truck for. My 91 is a work horse. My turbo may be overkill for the injector size, but the pay off is when you are holding it under load for a long time. I have no problem keeping my EGT under 1100° or less.
