injector removal tool

Anyone have a picture of an injector removal tool or can tell me how to make one? I would like not to have to weld but if I do can work it out.

Thanks for the help

Re:injector removal tool

never had to use a TOOL that was made just for injector pulling. med. pry bar works good and if you have a slide hammer then take a lug nut off of a 2nd gen truck it will fit on the injectos perfect if you can get the two hooks of the slide hammer then just tap it up a little and it will come out very easy.

Re:injector removal tool

Gary,
It is really easy to make one if you have access to a torch. HEre are the instructions I just sent someone else.

There really is not much to it. The hardest part is you have to make a puller for your old injectors. They will likely be stuck in pretty good with all the carbon build up. I brazed up my own with some all thread (~10" long), two nuts that fit the injector top (they are metric ... 14x1.5 I think), a 4" piece of pipe that fits over the all thread, a nut that fits the all thread and a washer. Braze the two metric nuts together then braze them onto one end of the all thread. put the piece of pipe on the all thread, braze the washer onto the nut that fits the all thread then braze or thread the nut/washer onto the all thread. What you end up with is a slide puller that screws onto the injector. Took about 10 minutes to assemble. All my injectors popped out with just a couple good pulls.

Any more question, you know how to get in touch with me!

Carl

Re:injector removal tool

Thanks guys

That sounds easy enough. I get the picture. A nut to fit the injector and the rest is to slide hammer it out.

I found how to change the springs without takeing the injectors out. I many not have to make it just now but I plan to change injectors as soon as I can get the cash.

I wonder....will a B tank get hot enough to braze?

Thanks for the help
