injector and manifold questions

just a couple easy questions that i dont know the answers to. #1- will 2nd gen injectors 94-98 work in a non i/c truck with the copper spacers/shims, but they will fit a i/c truck without the spacers correct? #2-will a 2nd gen exhaust manifold 94-02 fit a first gen? which would flow the best stock, 12 or 24v? thanks for any help

They will fit a 9mm head with the proper sleeves for 7mm injectors. However, the spray angle will be wrong for either non i/c or i/c.

An exhaust manifold for a '94-'98 12v will fit. 24v manifolds/heads have round exhaust ports and won't match the rectangular ports in a 12v head.

The thread on the bodies is the wrong size to fit your injector lines. The 2nd gen ones are 14mm and the 1st gen ones are 12mm. You can use 1st gen bodies w/2nd gen tips but the 2nd gen tips are actually less of a performance upgrade than it appears, because the 2nd gens flowed more through a small hole due to higher pop pressure.

I wouldn't even consider them a performance upgrade, the largest stock 2nd gen injector is the 215 and I believe they are 5 x .010" is only very slightly larger than the stock 6 x .009" 1st gen IC injector.

Exactly what I was trying to convey. Many people see the HP ratings on the 2nd gen trucks and assume the injectors are bigger to support this.

Pretty much. As stated, stock 2nd gen injectors aren't much larger than stock i/c 1st gen injectors so you won't see much power increase at all. Save up and go with a good set of 1st gens.

The 89-91 spray angle is 155*. 91.5-98 all have the same spray angle, 145*.
