Injection pump options for the VE when rebuilding

Hi all i have several questions on rebuilding the bosch ve injection pump. My truck has over 300k on it and i'm thinking about yanking it to get it rebuilt. When the thing is off, i would like to upgrade the spring to the 2900rpm one and possibly do the pin for more power along with anything else to improve performance.

So, is there any shop around that i could trust to do good rebuild work and install these parts?

Would putting the aftermarket parts in void any sort of warranty they might typically give?

About how much money is everyone paying for a typical rebuild?

Is there any other pump that might be better to put on in place of the ve one? I've read about a high performance pump by another manufactor that came on these engines...just wondering if it's worth the time.

Any other suggestions on the pump when it's out and gettin some love?

Thanks
Brent

p-pump conversion(search lots of info in whats invoved)- lots more money
and swapping of parts than just a rebuild, unless your able to scrounge the parts needed. especially the pump. A used pump will probably cost as much as a rebuild for yours.

You can get a brand new IP from Piers diesel for around $1500 and no core. They also do rebuilds and can do some stuff to get more fuel out of them, short of a KTA head. A rebuild should cost no more than $1000.

What "parts" are you in?

First off, why do you think it needs a rebuild?

PDR (west coast of Canada) or Schied (Ohio) can do that for you.

Might as well run the 3200 RPM spring.

Warranty issues would be up to the pump shop.

The pump isn't dead just yet. I just don't want it to die when i'm a thousand miles from home. So mainly for reliability. That and i figure if i start pushing a 300k pump, then something is bound to let loose sooner than later.

Im looking into a pump rebuild myself. My local shop quoted me about 600.00 if the internals are trashed. Id like to put the bigger gov spring in, where can I get one?

OK, that's not a bad reason.

Mopar2ya, any shop that can rebuild your pump can get the spring. The part number is in the "tech facts" section of the site.
