I'm drooling too !! Hooked to a sled, gooseneck, daily driver, dyno queen you name it, it would look great!!!!

Seriously though, I wouldn't give $10k for it. $7k maybe. I could care less about mileage, I don't know why folks get so concerned over it. I'd give more for lack of rust, body in good shape, brakes, suspension, turbo, fuel upgrades etc, before a low mileage stocker.

first gens are great... but they always ARE too much money!!!! move over to a 2nd gen and you get a lot more interior room, a better tranny, and a lot more power potential, and you get it for not much more money at all compared to waht people ask for 1st gens.

I love the old square bodies, but untill I can get a cheap one w/ a p7100 and NV4500, I'm a 2nd gen guy

I won't speak for other folks, but what I think is 'so great' about first gen trucks is that they are great platforms for reliable, long lasting, economical transportation and truthfully, not much more. All the same 'Dodge-isms' will have to be handled on both a 3k truck and a 10k truck. And MANY are the 'Dodge-isms'....These trucks aren't made out of gold, but there are folks that have the $$ and think the old rattle traps are worth it, so the market will bear it---I've seen many said folks turn around and sell the cream-puff 1st gens in favor of a smoother and/or quieter 2nd or 3rd gen. Most of us 1st genners are do-it-yourself-ers and tend to look for potential rather than payments. The 10.5k truck in question is still gonna 'need' a tranny, injectors and a decent turbo to be fun to drive, which, if you're even reading this post, is definitely a relavent concern. Now you're pushing 15k for a 13 year old truck that still has rotten spring bushings, wore out steering arm/box....for that kind of cash I'd go to 16k and buy the 98 12v quad cab 5 speed in the classifieds...

1st gens

I thought thats why everybody wants one because of the noise, rough ride, dry interiors, and rattles. Their trucks if I wanted a smooth ride I'd buy a MB. I have 2 first gens a 89,92 and 99. Read my sig Forrest. Thanks Steve B.

I don't know about your truck but mine does not rattle, it does ride a little rough but it handles and holds the road better than any 2nd gen on the road today. It is a little noisey but with the sound dampening I have did makes it as quiet inside as a 2nd gen which is not all that quiet either. Plus if we need parts like an injection pump we can buy two for the price of one newer truck pump and I can work under the hood without working under the cowl on my 1st gen. I would have to say no thanks to anyone who wanted to trade a 2nd gen for mine. It has served well for the first 200,000 and see no reason why it won't for the next 200,000 and then I will be so old I won't care what I drive as long as I can still drive.

if you want noise, I'm sure that 99 makes a LOT more noise than the 89!!

I just love the looks of the old square bodies... wish they came w/ a more potent drivetrain
