I bout a 4in lift from skyjacker will i have to run a drop pitman arm

 

You will need a steering adjustment of some sort:

Pitman arm, spacer block, , drop drag link or best of all crossover steering.

 

I would say you definitely need to do something. The steering pretty much sucks on these things at stock height, let alone lifted.

The best would be like Biltit said, crossover. With your lift, it should be easy.

 

Everyone keeps saying that the steering sucks but my trucks steering is nice and tight ? no slop no play or anything and not rely sure when u say crossover steering would it be good to just get a drop pitman arm?

I had a 1980 chev with 6'' lift, first put in a raised steering arm, then a dropped drag link, finally converted to crossover steering.

Wish i would have done the crossover from the start, would have been cheaper and alot nicer to drive.


Is the truck going to see much offroad?



I am currently installing crossover on my dodge with only 1'' lift, just for better steering.

 

no not much off roading a sled every now and again and so fields its a farm truck

 

Yes put one on, I just put one on my 01 that had been lifted 5" with out the drop pitman arm, It is from Skyjacker, well worth the money. Before the bump steer was so bad I would not let anyone drive it, it would change lanes if you where not ready. Now with the front end geometry back close to how it should be it does not have any bump steer.
